Sometimes, the most unexpected places remind us how powerful it is to have a friend by your side.
I snapped this photo in what looks like an old garage or a vintage car museum. A green and red pedestrian light hangs inside – not on a street corner where you’d expect it, but here, among classic cars, retro signs, and warm, dusty light.
Right next to it, a round mirror reflects me and my late and great friend standing together. We could’ve been anywhere – yet we’re here, sharing a small adventure, capturing a memory that I know I’ll look back on years from now.
Friendship is like that traffic light. Sometimes it says stop – pause, breathe, don’t rush. Other times, it says go – move forward, take the leap, walk together into the unknown.
In the reflection, you can see not just us, but the space around: old cars, signs, stories from decades past. Friends are like mirrors too. They reflect who we are, they show us angles we can’t see alone, they remind us where we’ve been and help us see where we might go.
When we’re with a good friend, even the most ordinary places become alive with colour and warmth. An old garage becomes a treasure trove. A dusty sign becomes a time machine. A simple mirror becomes a reminder: We’re here, together.
So here’s to friendship! To the green lights, the red lights, and all the little reflections in between. May we keep moving forward, side by side, through every adventure life parks in our path.
